It is the intent of the Department of Human Services that the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program be administered without discrimination by reason of race, color, sex, national origin, religion, or disability (Chapter 300-01-02-09-33)

 

Each applicant or beneficiary of services or assistance shall receive a copy of the brochure, SFN 143, "Your Civil Rights Under North Dakota Department of Human Services Programs." This brochure explains the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other acts that protect persons who receive services from the Department of Human Services. The brochure also explains what a client should do if they feel they have been discriminated against.
